Mark Hancock is an artist, musician and linguist. Painting figurative art in oils, his subjects range widely, from urban street scenes to natural landscapes and portraits and the style is quietly atmospheric.

“For me, painting is a way of giving expression to my appreciation of the things that I see around me. These may be urban street scenes, natural landscapes, and people.” For many years resident in Madrid, Mark switched to oil painting to capture to the uncompromising light of that city. He now lives in Chester, but oils still remain his medium of choice.
